    Anything For The Devil Review
by David B., Just Press Play

Wow. Let's just get that out of the way. Wow. It's been a long time since a band has just made me sit back and go, "YES, they got it!" This album was awesome from start to finish! Which just leaves one question… how have they remained under the radar for so long? This is sure to appeal to almost every metal fan out there, from the hard core moshers, to the corner dwelling gothics.

So let's dive right in shall we?

The album has a great flow to it. It begins with a simple little intro with the first track. It gets the listener prepared, and then goes into "Useless." With this song, the band doesn't pull any punches. They go straight into strong lyrics and a strong, aggressive guitar line. When the lead singer belts out "You're not the same little bitch," my first reaction was YES! After "Useless," comes "Hollywood," which is a direct attack on the artificial Hollywood world. From start to finish this album was clean, to the point, aggressive, and had actual lyrics. Every element was polished, from song intros, little vocal effects, and background sounds. This is exactly what we should expect from any metal newcomer.

The CD ends with the track "Anything for the Devil." This song is slightly different from the others (and is my favorite). The female background vocals just stick in the back of one's head. It's probably the best put-together song on the album. As the song ends, it winds down slowly and provides a great loop to the opening song.

This album isn't lacking much, with the exception of length. There are only five tracks, and the songs range between 3 and 4 minutes. It's a short listen. While it's awesome to see a band focus on quality above all else, 5 tracks...come on? The price of the album isn't that unreasonable, it reflects the small track number. If you check Amazon.com, there are used copies for half the listed price. So the briefness of the album can be somewhat forgiven. It still makes the album seem more like a product demo than an actual release.

If you're looking for a great new band for your MP3 collection, then look no further. Anything for the Devil is a complete metal package. If they come to your area, make sure to check out their show. If they put half as much energy into their stage act, the crowd should be in for a treat! Hopefully they come out with another album soon. The experience was over well before I was ready.
